Day 15

Today began around 8:00 for me.  I had a good night's sleep at the Hope Lodge.  I left around 9:00 and went to Walmart and was blessed with a wonderful parking space. I finished my shopping and then went straight to the hospital. 

William and Jared were awake but stilll laying down.  Jared's chemo had already started.  After the first chemo was over we gave Jared his first shower.  Merle, our nurse for the day, soon came in and started the next chemo.  William and I worked on bills again. He left for home around 1:00.  Jared had fallen asleep. 

I spent the afternoon watching TV, reading and checking email.  Pastor Lynn, Darla and my Mom called.  Jared took shower number two after his nap.  He ate a little bit of fried rice and had water to drink.  I talked with Larry and Daniel's moms and worked on laundry.  I later called and talked with Adam and William.  It is now 8:40.  Jared is asleep. I'm about to wake him for his last shower.

Lord, I pray for your will.  I thank you that Jared is doing well.  I pray that you'll watch over him.  Protect him from the skin problems and mouth sores.  I thank you that he's in the palm of your hand.  Lord, I pray for Larry.  Touch him and bring healing to his body.  I pray that you'll rid his body of the things that are pulling him down.  I pray for his blood pressure to return to normal.  Touch Angela and keep her safe.  Give her strength to stand.  I pray for your will. In Jesus name. Amen.

Looking back...

The other night I mentioned getting to know Jared.  The video below gives a little taste of the fun we all had together.  This was taken on Easter Sunday, April 11, 1993 while we lived in Ocala, Florida.  Since we lived so far from family, we were alone that year. Jared was four and Adam was six.

You will notice that Jared coughs several times during the video.  He had asthma and was having a flare up.  You will also notice that he is wearing cowboy boots with his shorts.  He loved those cowboy boots.  He wore them all the time. This is part one of the video.  I will post part two tomorrow night.  Enjoy. :)
