March 5, 2002 (Tuesday)

Day 10

Last night we went to sleep around 12:00.  We both slept well with Jared only getting up a few times to use the restroom.  The day started around 7:00 or so.  Dr. Shipp came by to see Jared.  He thought Jared looked good and said today would be our last isolation day.  Chemo will start again tomorrow.  The morning passed quickly.  I left to take a shower and Jared was OK without me.

I later went to the cafeteria and picked up a salad. After lunch, the chaplain came by for a visit. Nurses came and went. The day continued.  Jared took an early bath and then we changed his dressing.  The child life specialist came to see Jared but he was ready for a nap so she left.  Mrs. Rhonda  (teacher) came by at 3:00 for school. Jared was still tired so she left. The child life specialist came back at 3:30.  Jared still wanted to rest so we talked and then she left.

Jared and I had a quiet afternoon.  While Jared was resting, I worked on laundry and talked with Angela for about thirty minutes.  It was great talking with her.  Later, Jared decided that he wanted some Doritos so I went downstairs to get them.  (Jared is not eating very much so I try to get whatever he wants to eat.) He only ate a few.  We spent the evening watching TV and reading. A lady from a local church called. We also talked with Rhonda, Cody, Adam and William.  It is now 10:30 and we are about to crash.

*  Lord, keep Jared safe tomorrow and throughout this process.  Please protect his whole body from the chemo. Have your way.  In Jesus Name. Amen.
