Day 14

Lord, I thank you for this day.  I thank you for my husband, my children, my family, my friends.  Lord, I pray that you'll have your way in all of us.  Protect Jared! Thank you that his chemos are going well.  Thank you that he is still eating a little and not getting sick.  I pray, Lord, that you'll protect his skin and his body.  Lord, I pray that his mouth sores will be minor.  Lord, there is chaos all around us.  Please have your way. Protect your people.  Help us to stand and be light in this world.  I thank you, Lord, and praise your name.  In Jesus Name. Amen.

Today began with the usual.  Jared had restroom breaks early but was able to drift back to sleep.  I stayed awake and read my Bible.  Dr. Lucas came by to check on Jared.  He is a nice man as well as a good doctor. William arrived around 9:00.  Jared took his first bath soon after.  Our nurse, Mary, changed his dressing. (Yeah!!!)

We had a quiet morning.  Jared's chemo started around 11:00.  I took a shower and then started working on laundry.  Jared's side started hurting so Dr. Lucas came by again and then ordered an xray.  He decided it was probably gas.

We watched a few movies and completed shower number two around 5:00.  William changed Jared's dressing. (Double Yeah!!!)

Rhonda called and we talked.  I worked on email and completed the laundry.  We watched Trading Spaces while working on household finances. (Still have to pay bills even when away from home.)  Around 8:00 it was time for shower number three.  Jared did not want to take it but finally agreed.  William changed his dressing again. (Triple Yeah!!!)

Mrs. Weaver (Jared's home tutor) called to check on him.  We later talked with Tom and Dess.  I left around 10:00 and went to the Hope Lodge.  I read the paper and am now about to go to sleep.

Lord, I pray for your will in the days ahead.  I pray that you'll have the doctor on call that Jared needs.  Give the doctors wisdom and keep Jared safe.  I thank you for Jared's strength.  Please continue to have your way in his life.  In Jesus Name. Amen.

Jared is tired.
