March 3, 2002 (Sunday)

Day 8

Today began around 8:30.  I got up and took a shower.  Adam was up soon after.  His stomach was bothering him so we waited to see if he would feel better. I finally left him at Hope Lodge and went to Walmart. (I forgot to pick up an item we needed yesterday). I came back to pick up Adam but he still wasn't feeling well.  We waited for a while and then left around 11:40 for the  hospital.  We arrived around 12:00 and William and Adam left soon after.  They had to make the long trip back to Robertsdale. Jared and I are now watching TV. Jared was sad when they left but is now feeling better.

It is now a little after 10:00 p.m.  We had a quiet afternoon.  Jared napped while I read and played on the computer.  I saw Larry's dad and he said that Larry was having a tough time.  (Lord, please touch Larry. Keep him safe and protect him.) I changed Jared's dressing over his picc line while the nurse watched me. (I'm getting better at changing the dressing but it is definitely NOT my favorite thing to do.) Jared and I then watched a movie.  During the evening, we talked with Rhonda, Adam and William.  The nurse came in later and gave Jared his nightly meds.  We are now going to try and get some sleep.

* Today was long.  Time seemed to drag by. Lord, help me to be prepared for the days ahead. Help me to be strong in You. Lord, I pray for Jared, for your protection and hand upon him. We are seeing how severe things have been on Larry. What's going on?  Lord, I pray that you'll give the doctor's wisdom.  I pray that they'll know what to do for Jared as the need arises. That there will be no guessing or assuming.  Help me to remain focused on you and the fact that you will heal Jared. Lord, I know that I complain sometimes.  Please help me to do my part and leave the rest to you. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
