Today began as usual. Jared slept well waking only when the nurses came in to check on him. We were up for the day around 7:00. I went to the restroom to change and missed Dr. Shipp. Jared filled me in on what I missed. The doctor decided to increase his shingle med dosage. As the doctor was leaving, Jared overheard him tell the nurse that Jared was a smart boy. (I could tell that made Jared feel good to hear that.) We had a quiet day. The child life people came by to see if Jared needed anything. Mrs. Rhonda, the hospital tutor/teacher came to have school but Jared did not feel like studying. We watched TV and I checked email and read a little.
We had several phone calls: Darla, Dana, Diane, Adam, Tom and Dess, Rhonda. It was nice to hear from everyone.
Jared's skin is getting very dry and he is getting a rash. A cream was ordered for his skin. Jared took his bath earlier today. We changed Jared's dressing with the help of Phil, the nurse. It is now around 11:00 and time for bed.
*Overall Jared had a good day. He spent most of his time in bed. His shingles look like they are healing. Jared ate pretzels today.
Lord, I pray for Jared that you'll keep him safe. Protect his mind and body. Help him to reach out to You. I pray for your peace to cover him. I pray for your will. Lord, please touch Larry. He needs a touch from You. Have your way in his life. Lord, comfort his parents. Give them strength. In Jesus Name. Amen.
